Anti-Vibration Mounts,
Bonded and Made in India

Margo Rubber Products moulds rubber-to-metal bonded and unbonded anti-vibration mounts at its ISO 9001:2015 certified plant in Nashik, India — bobbin, conical, sandwich and buffer forms in natural rubber, neoprene and NBR. Engineered to your load rating, deflection and mounting geometry, to OEM drawing rather than off the shelf.

02 · SPECIFICATION REFERENCE

Mount Types and Load Ranges

A mount is specified by the static load it carries and the stiffness that load has to sit on, not by dimension alone. Send the supported mass, the number of mounting points, the disturbing frequency and the mounting geometry with the drawing, and we will select and quote it.

Cylindrical bobbin — male/male5–150 kg45–60 Shore ACompressors, small gensets, control panels, fan assemblies
Cylindrical bobbin — male/female5–150 kg45–60 Shore AWhere one face bolts through and the other threads in
Cylindrical bobbin — female/female5–150 kg45–60 Shore APanel and enclosure isolation with studs from both sides
Conical / bell mount20–400 kg50–70 Shore AEngine and cab mounting where load comes in on more than one axis
Plate / sandwich mount50–800 kg55–75 Shore AMachine feet, pump and motor bases, heavy static loads
Shear / V-mount10–250 kg45–65 Shore ALoaded in shear for lower stiffness and better low-frequency isolation
Buffer / bumper stopperImpact duty60–80 Shore AEnd-stops and travel limiters — absorbs impact, does not isolate

Showing 8 of 8 entries. How a mount is selected: the mount and the mass it carries form a spring-mass system with a natural frequency. Isolation only begins once the disturbing frequency is more than about 1.4 times that natural frequency, and is worth having at a ratio of three or more — which is why a softer mount usually isolates better, and why a mount that is too stiff for its load does nothing at all. Give us the supported mass per mounting point and the running speed of the machine and we will size it. Load and hardness bands are typical for the mount type and are not a specification for a particular part; see our technical disclaimer.

03 · MATERIAL SELECTION

Which Mount Material Do I Need?

On a mount the compound is chosen for how it behaves under repeated load, not for what it resists chemically. Natural rubber is the default and the right answer most of the time; the others are what you move to when oil, heat or weather rules it out.

NR
Temp. Range
−20° to +90°C
Hardness
30–80 Shore A

Polyisoprene, and the standard anti-vibration compound. The highest resilience and the best fatigue life of the eight, with the lowest dynamic-to-static stiffness ratio — which is the property that decides whether a mount isolates in service as well as it does on paper. Not for oil, fuel or sustained heat.

CR
Temp. Range
−40° to +120°C
Hardness
40–90 Shore A

Polychloroprene. The answer when a mount has to survive weather, ozone and moderate oil at the same time — an exposed machine foot or an under-bonnet mount. Slightly stiffer and less resilient than natural rubber, and worth the trade when the mount is outdoors. Also the family we reach for when flame retardancy is specified.

NBR
Temp. Range
−30° to +120°C
Hardness
40–90 Shore A

Nitrile butadiene rubber. Specified where the mount sits in or near petroleum oil or hydraulic fluid, which natural rubber cannot take. Dynamic behaviour is a compromise against natural rubber, so specify it for the oil, not for the isolation.

SBR
Temp. Range
−30° to +100°C
Hardness
40–90 Shore A

Styrene butadiene rubber. Abrasion resistance at low cost, blended with natural rubber in buffers and stoppers where the part takes impact rather than isolating a running machine. Not for oil or fuel contact.

EPDM
Temp. Range
−40° to +140°C
Hardness
40–90 Shore A

Ethylene propylene diene rubber. For mounts that live outdoors or near steam and coolant, with excellent weather and ozone resistance. Higher damping and lower resilience than natural rubber. Not for petroleum oils.

AEM
Temp. Range
−40° to +175°C continuous to 160°C
Hardness
50–80 Shore A

Ethylene acrylic elastomer. Our signature compound, supplied to Mahindra & Mahindra for engine and transmission applications. Specified for a mount that has to hold its properties where oil, heat and ozone act together and neither natural rubber nor nitrile will last.

FKM
Temp. Range
−20° to +250°C continuous to 200°C
Hardness
60–90 Shore A

Fluorocarbon rubber. High cost, high damping loss and low resilience, so it is rarely specified for vibration isolation — it appears here because we mould it, and because a mount that is really a chemical-service block sometimes needs it.

VMQ
Temp. Range
−60° to +220°C
Hardness
30–80 Shore A

Vinyl methyl silicone, the widest service range of the eight. Poor tear and fatigue resistance, and a bonded mount in silicone tends to fail at the bond line, so it is rarely specified for vibration isolation — use it for a static high-temperature pad rather than a running mount.

Lead Times and How We Quote

Margo produces in bulk against OEM schedules. Send the drawing with the supported load, the mounting geometry and the insert specification, plus the compound and the volume, and we will quote it. Minimum run is 10,000 pieces per part number, per compound, or quoted against the part where size or complexity sets the economics. Prototype and first-article lots sit outside the minimum and are quoted separately.
